What We Offer
HLA Nashville provides quality before and after school programming centered around academic excellence through homework assistance and tutoring programs. Participants also engage in a variety of fun and exciting recreational activities. We transport to and from seven elementary schools in the Antioch community. We serve a healthy breakfast and snack each day.
Why Our Program Is Important
The majority of juvenile crimes are committed between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays. During the same hours, youth are victims of crime more than any other time during the day. Unsupervised youth are more likely to: use alcohol, drugs and tobacco; receive poor grades, skip school or drop out of school; engage in risky sexual activity; carry and use weapons.

By partnering with various school partners in the Greater Nashville area, school administrators help us identify young men who are at-risk of educational failure, dropping out of school, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse or engaging in gangs.
Additionally, the in-school mentoring approach is gaining momentum in schools from principals, administrators, and teachers because of our commitment to improve the academic performance, attendance, and attitude. addition, we are dedicated to helping reduce disciplinary issues, expulsion, and dropout rates of their most at-risk young men.
